I am excited to be participating in the Ultimate Blog Party this year hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom. If you're visiting from the party, thanks for stopping by!
If you are not here about the blog party, the idea is for bloggers to get to know each other and network through blog-hopping. If you're a fellow blogger, head on over to join the party!
About Me
I am a proud stay-at-home Mom to my adorable 16 month old, Carl. I have been blessed to have a wonderful husband that has made it possible for me to stay home with our son. There is no better job in the world! Aside from running after my toddler, I love spending hours creating things on Photoshop, finding inspiration for my home and family on Pinterest, and baking/cooking. Before staying home, I was a Special Education teacher. I am certified in Special Education (birth-adult) and Elementary Education. I have taught ages 3-years to adults at a local community college. Most recently, I was teaching Special Education at the elementary school level.
I started my blog back in September of 2012 when I was a little over 5 months pregnant. Unfortunately, I was put on bed rest until I had my son at 35 weeks 6 days. As a teacher, I was used to being kept very busy and decided to use my time on the couch wisely. At the time, I thought I would be returning to teaching so I decided to share free printables and ideas for teachers and parents (which is still want I blog about with a little addition of ideas for younger children).
Once I had my son, I decided to take time off blogging to learn how to be a Mom. My son had feeding difficulties and would BF for at least 1-2 hours at every sitting round the clock until he was 6 months old so I found little time to do much else. At 6 months he finally started to cut his time down and I began to have time again to do things.
During the winter of 2013/14, my blog took off on Pinterest. One of my blog posts has had over 14k repins. At that point, I decided I wanted to get back into blogging. But of course, just because I have repins, doesn't mean I have followers. So I am hoping through parties like this one, I can learn more about building a steady audience.
I am looking into being a part of Giveaways, Reviews, and even Guest Posting. I will be part of a giveaway starting next week, and I just received my first reading program to review. I am excited to learn more about the world of blogging from the many experience bloggers in this party. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read about me!
