Pet peeve of mine. If the person comes first how come you are a "special education teacher"? Shouldn't you be a teacher of special education? This is located in the "What do I do when I do need to talk about someone's disability?" paragraph
You're totally right! It's always been the title I have held at my schools and I never thought twice about it. I do normally say I teach students with disabilities but I do refer to myself as a special education teacher and you're right, it isn't worded in People First Language. Thanks for the comment!
